Fresh milk used to make this Danone yogurt comes entirely from Canadian farmers we know. We source our supplies from farms in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, which are part of Nutrinor cooperative.
Fresh milk used to make this yogurt is managed separately. We can therefore trace the milk from these farms to our plant.
Nutrinor’s mission and values are aligned with those of Danone Canada. Nutrinor is an agricultural cooperative in Québec and is located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. The cooperative has a clear policy on sustainable development. They manage grain mills and have internal agronomic expertise which allows them to impact the supply chain from the fields to milk production. Bacterial cultures convert some of the lactose into lactic acid: generally, people with lactose intolerance tolerate yogurt better than milk because it moves more slowly through the digestive system. We suggest that you try a small amount at a time and consult a nutritionist who will be able to advise you!

Yogurt is a milk fermented by the development of two lactic bacterial cultures: Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. These bacteria must be alive in the finished product and this is what gives yogurt its unique properties!
The expiry date reads as follows: YYYYY MM DD (followed by a letter and the production time). Yogurt retains all its benefits and flavours until the expiry date. However, it is acceptable to eat it a few days after the date. Trust your eyes and nose: if it looks and smells good, you can eat it.
All yogurts in Canada are made from pasteurized milk, it’s the law! Bacterial cultures are added after pasteurization.
